On December 26 th 2004 , the now infamous South Asia Tsunami ravaged the coast line of Sri Lanka , leaving behind unprecedented destruction to coastal towns, taking away up to 40,000 lives and causing the displacement of close to a million people.

Despite the generosity of the international community in the provision of aid to the country, there are still many areas of Sri Lanka where sufficient aid has not reached. The residents of these areas are confused and disillusioned, not knowing what to do to get their lives off the ground.

The Sri Lanka Tsunami Relief Fund was set up with the aim of helping the people of Sri Lanka to rebuild the homes and lives that were shattered on that tragic day.

This site is dedicated to informing you, and others wanting to make a donation, of every aspect of the fund and the projects being implemented. Information on why a project was chosen, where the project will be concentrated and how it will be implemented will allow you to see how your donations will help the people of Sri Lanka.
